Analysis: Mayfield completed 19 of 28 passes for 234 yards, two touchdowns and in interception while adding eight yards on three rushing attempts. Case Keenum replaced him late once the game was out of hand, but Mayfield was previously able to play through the injury, which bodes well for his potential availability against the Broncos on Thursday.

Comes up short in wild loss

Mayfield completed 23 of 32 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 47-42 loss to the Chargers. He added eight yards on two carries.

Analysis: The fourth-year quarterback put together his most productive game of the year, tossing multiple TDs for the first time in five games while topping 300 yards for the second time, but Mayfield's numbers were still dwarfed by Justin Herbert's five-TD effort. Cleveland's run-heavy offense doesn't often give Mayfield a chance to rack up big totals, but he might get another one in Week 6 as the Browns try to keep pace with Kyler Murray and the Cardinals.

Playing through torn labrum

Mayfield suffered a partially torn labrum in his left (non-throwing) shoulder in the Browns' Sept. 19 win over the Texans, but he's expected to avoid surgery for the time being and isn't at risk of missing any game action, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Analysis: Not only has Mayfield played all but five snaps -- three of which were Case Keenum kneel downs -- in Cleveland's two games since suffering the injury, but he's also handled every rep with the first-team offense in the Browns' subsequent practices. Analysis: The report echoes what Mayfield said following the game, in which he completed 15 of 33 attempts for 155 yards and had a 59.5 quarterback rating, the fourth-lowest mark of his career. Mayfield dislocated his shoulder during the Browns' Week 2 win over the Texans, had it popped back into place, and hasn't appeared on the injury report since. The inaccurate performance came out of nowhere and may be attributed to an off game that any quarterback can have from time to time.

Survives subpar effort in win

Analysis: Mayfield had experienced some accuracy issues early in the Week 3 win over the Bears before hitting his stride, but he never quite settled down for any extended stretch Sunday. He's topped the 300-yard mark three times this season, equalling his total from last year, and he'll look to keep it rolling next Sunday against the Steelers.
